Summer breeze on the terrace

By DAVID WOODING

There I was sitting enjoying a cold beer in the sunshine on the House of Commons terrace when along came a minister to whisper in my ear: “Wind tomorrow.”

I recoiled: “Terrible news.”

The MP disagreed…it was wonderful news. “No it’s not,” I countered. “We’ve had enough bad weather.”

He looked puzzled and then said: “I’m not talking about the weather. I’m talking about wind turbines. We’re announcing our policy on renewable energy sources tomorrow.”
